Our Aging & Finishes

Aging:

Our Aging Processes are derived from analyzing real vintage parts, practical recreation, and years of unique experimentation. We've crafted our newest Aging Techniques based on the principle of "Practical Aging". Focusing on recreating the details in the same way as they would have happened naturally. Specifically designed to pair perfectly with Reissue Guitars or Vintage Replacement/Replication!

Standard Collection - These items feature a standard aged finish, capturing the wear and patina commonly found on vintage guitars. Wether you're building or customizing your first aged guitar, or adding to a sizeable collection of vintage style instruments, this is a perfect introduction or home base for all.

Vintage Collection - All Aged Vintage Collection items goes through a multi stage aging process to recreate the smallest details, even the ones not visible when assembled. The shape, tooling marks, wear, discoloration, pitting, shrinkage, patina, etc. are all recreated individually using practical methods that replicate what happens naturally after decades of use and exposure.

Finishes:

VOS (Vintage Old Stock)Our VOS finish represents the wish we all have to find original parts in mint condition. VOS is non-aged but it's also carefully hand finished to achieve a true vintage appearance, as well as raising the finish quality.
Plastics & Hardware are all individually processed & hand buffed creating a proper vintage sheen. VOS will naturally look like an older part without the typical dings, dirt, or patina of an Aged item.

VOS should be considered in the same sense as buying genuine vintage parts, each piece is unique and not sold as "brand new". Some light scuffs and/or minor marks can be expected naturally as any protective plastic or packaging has been removed prior to hand finishing.

Light AgedBuilding off of our VOS finish, we progress to something that shows clear signs of use, but still wouldn't look out of place on an instrument in great condition.
Light Aged finishes typically feature a Hazed Surface, Minor Dings, Light Patina, Discolored Edges, and a Beautiful Dull Gloss Finish.

Heavy AgedProgressing even further, this finish begins to show more serious signs of age. Capturing the vibe of an vintage instrument that's been well played and used for years as someones main guitar.
Heavy Aged finishes typically feature a Hazed Surface, Noticable Discoloration, Dings, Dirt, Patina, and a Beautiful Dull Gloss Finish. In some cases small cracks/breaks are present in Heavy Aged Pickguard.
